Hwk: 9/11 MONOCHROME & COLOR!!

Hwk: 9/11 MONOCHROME & COLOR!!

We are starting our introduction to COLOR!! In class we looked at TINTS, TONES, & SHADES with a single color. Remember:

ADDITIVE COLOR THEORY = when all of the colors add up to WHITE. absence of color is black. (light-based)

SUBTRACTIVE COLOR THEORY = when all of the colors add up to BLACK. absence of color is white.

Remember we are using SUBTRACTIVE COLOR THEORY in this class.

http://worqx.com/color/color_wheel.htm

TINTS = HUE + WHITE
TONES = HUE + GREY
SHADES = HUE + BLACK

PRIMARY = colors which cannot be divided
SECONDARY = PRIMARY + PRIMARY
TERTIARY = PRIMARY + SECONDARY (this is the order the name should be written as well)

For homework you need to create a color wheel which includes PRIMARY, SECONDARY, & TERTIARY colors. In the center of your color wheel should be PURE BLACK, and the outer rim of your color wheel should be PURE WHITE. In between PURE BLACK and PURE WHITE for each color you must have PURE HUE

This is reverse of what I am asking of you, and make sure you have a 7-point scale going from BLACK to PURE HUE and a 7-point scale going from PURE COLOR to WHITE, for a total of a 13-point scale.
